Police Arrest 12 in Tangier Over Assault and Drug Charges

Authorities in Tangier, Morocco, have apprehended 12 individuals, aged between 18 and 27, in connection with a series of alleged criminal activities. The arrests were made on Saturday following an investigation into an incident involving mutual assault, drug use, property damage, and threats with bladed weapons.

The suspects are accused of engaging in public brawls, exchanging blows, and throwing stones in the streets of Tangier. These actions were reportedly captured in a video that circulated on social media platforms. The police operation led to the identification and arrest of all involved parties.

During a search of the suspects, officers discovered 13 doses of cocaine, four hallucinogenic pills, and a motorcycle believed to have been used to facilitate the alleged crimes. Further checks revealed that one of the arrested individuals was already wanted by national police for a similar violence-related case.

All 12 suspects have been placed under police custody pending judicial investigation. The investigation, supervised by the competent public prosecutor's office, aims to uncover all circumstances and motives behind these criminal acts.
