Police arrest analyst who accused Katsina govt of sponsoring bandit

The Katsina State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of security analyst Usman Kurfi, who had accused the state government of sponsoring bandits for a pilgrimage. The arrest followed a formal complaint lodged by the Katsina State Government through the office of the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Nasir Mu’azu.

Police spokesperson DSP Abubakar Sadiq stated that the arrest was based on the allegations Kurfi made during a television interview. The state government had previously denied these claims. Sadiq confirmed that the police acted on the complaint, conducted a preliminary investigation, and subsequently charged Kurfi to court.
