The Rivers State Police Command has recorded another major operational success in its relentless campaign against violent crime, with the arrest of a suspected armed robber and the recovery of multiple firearms and live ammunition in a targeted intelligence-led operation.

The suspect, identified as Austine Emenike, also known as “Oyibo,” was apprehended following directives from the Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju. During the operation, police operatives seized one locally made pistol, four single-barrel guns, and five live cartridges. The command has hailed the arrest and recovery as a major step in its ongoing campaign against violent crime.

In line with the directives of the Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, acting on credible intelligence, operatives of the Command swung into action and arrested the suspect, one Austine Emenike, popularly known as ‘Oyibo,’ of Aluu Village, Rivers State. Exhibit recovered includes: one locally made pistol, four single-barrel guns, and five live cartridges.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Emenike is connected to a broader criminal network. The police stated that they are actively pursuing vital leads to identify and arrest other members of the gang, as well as to fully understand the scope of their illicit operations. This ongoing pursuit aims to dismantle the network and prevent further criminal activities.
