Police arrest suspected drug dealer with bottles of Methylene Chloride in Bauchi

Bauchi State Police Command has apprehended a suspected drug dealer, Aliyu Suleman, in possession of significant quantities of illicit substances. The 23-year-old resident of Tudun Salmanu was arrested during an intelligence-led operation in the Bayan Gari area of Bauchi metropolis on Tuesday.

Operatives from the Vehicle Crime Response Unit intercepted Suleman during a routine operation. A subsequent search yielded 64 bottles of Methylene Chloride, locally referred to as 'Suck and Die,' along with 17 pieces of rubber solution. These substances have been seized as exhibits, and the suspect is currently in custody.

The suspect was intercepted during a routine intelligence-led operation. Upon search, the following exhibits were promptly recovered from the suspect: 64 bottles containing Methylene Chloride, locally referred to as ‘Suck and Die’, and 17 pieces of Rubber Solutions.

Police spokesperson Nafiu Habib stated that the arrest is a component of the command's broader strategy to combat drug abuse and protect public health. The suspect is cooperating with investigators, and the command expects to charge him in court upon the conclusion of the investigation. Commissioner of Police Sani-Omolori Aliyu urged increased surveillance and operations to dismantle drug networks, emphasizing the need for collective action.
