Police describe discovery of woman's body in boyfriend's Lagos home

A police inspector detailed the grim discovery of a 21-year-old woman's decomposing body in her boyfriend's Lagos residence. Inspector Odunayo Oloye testified before the Lagos State High Court in the ongoing murder trial of Benjamin Nnayereugo, also known as Killaboi.

The case began on July 15, 2023, when Augusta Onuwagbagbe's mother reported her daughter missing. She informed police that Augusta, a university student, had a disagreement with Nnayereugo on July 11. Despite the mother's intervention to resolve the dispute, she lost contact with both individuals.

Following leads from Augusta's roommate, the mother went to Nnayereugo's residence, finding her daughter's car parked there. She then reported the matter to the Ajah Police Station. Inspector Oloye accompanied the family to the estate where Nnayereugo lived.

Upon arrival, officers noticed an upstairs window was open and an air conditioner was running. Oloye climbed a ladder to peer through the window, detecting a foul odor. Entering the veranda, she saw the lifeless body of a lady, identified from a photograph as Augusta. Investigators later recovered a handwritten note and a pen from the residence, which are now part of the evidence.
