Police hunt 'maniac' accused of sexually harassing women in Karlovac

Karlovac police are intensifying efforts to identify a man allegedly harassing women in the city, following multiple public warnings.

The investigation gained traction after accounts of unsettling encounters began circulating on social media. One woman shared her experience of being approached by a man who asked for directions, then allegedly exposed himself to her. Just a day later, she reported another disturbing encounter where the same man, this time completely naked, allegedly approached her while she was walking by the Korana river.

"Two such situations in two days have deeply disturbed me, and I no longer feel safe walking alone," the woman wrote in a social media post that quickly gained traction. She urged other women to be cautious and trust their instincts.

Local police confirmed they are aware of the reports of inappropriate behavior in Karlovac. "Police have information about a person who is harassing women with inappropriate behavior in the city's vicinity," a police spokesperson stated. "Intensive measures and actions are being taken to determine the perpetrator's identity. As the criminal investigation is ongoing, we cannot provide further details at this moment."

As the investigation continues, warnings advising women to be vigilant, especially when walking alone in areas where the man has reportedly been seen, are circulating on social media.
