Police investigate alleged assault involving cricketer Brydon Carse

Derbyshire Police have confirmed they are investigating allegations of an assault that occurred in Derby city center, following an incident involving England cricketer Brydon Carse. Images circulated on social media showing the 31-year-old pace bowler in handcuffs outside a nightclub on Saturday night.

Carse was initially detained by officers on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly. However, police stated that the man was de-arrested shortly afterward, having agreed to leave the area. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) had previously announced that the incident would be investigated by the Cricket Regulator, resulting in Carse's removal from the England squad for the second Test match against Pakistan.
