Police Investigate Bolt Driver's Death in Cross River; Circumstances Unclear

Authorities in Cross River State have launched an investigation into the mysterious death of Emmanuel Ita, a 29-year-old Bolt driver whose body was discovered on Friday. Ita was found with a chest injury near a Honda City vehicle along the Target–Udy King axis in Calabar.

The police spokesperson, Sunday Eitokpah, stated that officials were dispatched to the scene upon receiving information about the incident. However, Ita's family had already transported his remains to a hospital mortuary, where a preliminary examination revealed the chest injury. The exact circumstances leading to his death remain unclear.

While an online newspaper reported that Ita was allegedly stabbed by three robbers who attempted to steal his car, the police have not confirmed these allegations. Their statement emphasizes that only a preliminary examination has identified a chest injury. The police are urging the public to avoid speculation and await the findings of their investigation.
