Police investigate death of man who fell from rooftop of occupied building in Parla

Police are investigating the death of a 33-year-old man whose body was found Saturday in the inner courtyard of an occupied building in Parla, after he apparently fell from the rooftop.

The alert reached emergency services at around 10:40 a.m. after a report of an immobile man in the courtyard who might have fallen from the roof. Parla is a municipality in the Madrid region.

Scientific Police officers and investigators from Group VI of the Provincial Judicial Police Brigade’s Homicide Unit went to the building and took charge of the case. Police sources told EFE that there are indications the death may have been violent and linked to a crime, rather than an accident or suicide. The investigation remains open.

The body was found at a building on Peña Arenosa street. Sources said the property had previously been the scene of fights and other problems involving residents. Emergency services said medics could only confirm the man’s death when they arrived. Firefighters helped them reach the inner courtyard.
