Police Officers Kill Three Robbers in Attempted Carjacking in Argentina

A violent attempted robbery in La Matanza, Argentina, ended with three alleged assailants dead after they were confronted by two off-duty police officers. The incident took place in Rafael Castillo when the criminals targeted what they believed was an easy mark: a parked Volkswagen Fox.

However, the couple inside the vehicle were members of the City Police. They were not in uniform but were carrying their service weapons. The attackers approached aggressively, but the officers responded, leading to a close-range shootout. Two robbers died at the scene, and a third succumbed to his injuries later at a hospital. A 17-year-old accomplice was wounded and apprehended.

The confrontation began around 11:45 p.m. on Friday. The officers, identified as B.R. (25) and M.P. (21), were in their personal vehicle when a Renault Sandero stopped beside them. Four individuals exited the Sandero and advanced on the couple. Security camera footage captured the attempted robbery, showing three attackers trying to open the driver's door while the fourth approached the passenger side. The footage was crucial in the prosecutor's decision not to press charges against the two officers involved.
