Police Patrol Car Overturns During Stolen Motorcycle Chase in La Plata

A police patrol car from Buenos Aires Province overturned in La Plata on Monday while in pursuit of a van suspected of transporting stolen motorcycles. The incident occurred at the intersection of 160 and 78 streets in Los Hornos.

Video footage captured the moment the patrol car, traveling at high speed, veered off the road and overturned. The accident happened shortly after 5 p.m., near a large land occupation known locally as the “megatoma.” Two officers from the Patrol Command sustained injuries; one was taken to Sanatorio Argentino, and both were reported to be out of danger.

Despite the patrol car's crash, the operation concluded successfully. Authorities apprehended three suspects and recovered the van along with the two stolen motorcycles. Investigators believe the vehicles were being transported to the “megatoma” to be dismantled for parts.

In a separate incident, a police chase in the Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires resulted in a motorcyclist being injured and two individuals detained. This chase began when police attempted to stop a motorcycle carrying two passengers riding without helmets at high speed. The suspects fled, leading police on a pursuit that ended when the motorcycle crashed into a patrol car.
