Police raid TRT series set; actor Erdem Kaynarca detained

Police conducted a raid on the set of the upcoming TRT digital platform series "Ateş Denizi" in Istanbul, located at the historic Beykoz Kundura Factory. The operation was part of an ongoing investigation into drug and prohibited substance offenses.

According to journalist Birsen Altuntaş, anti-narcotics teams and district police entered the set during filming. Their primary target was the personal trailer of lead actor Erdem Kaynarca, who plays the character "Nezih." Kaynarca, who was preparing for a scene, was reportedly surprised by the police arrival and escorted from his trailer. The incident shocked cast and crew members, leading to a mandatory halt in principal photography and other set activities.

Following standard investigative procedures, police, accompanied by drug-sniffing dogs, conducted a thorough search of Kaynarca's personal vehicle on the set. No incriminating evidence or prohibited substances were found in his car or on his person. After the searches were completed, the actor was taken to the police department for formal questioning and to provide an official statement.

After his interrogation, Erdem Kaynarca was released. Neither the production company nor the actor's management agency has issued an official statement regarding the incident.
