Police Receive Road Crash Investigation Training in Chattogram

Police officers in Chattogram are undergoing specialized training to improve their ability to investigate road crashes. A two-day workshop, focused on enhancing their capacity to examine the causes of traffic accidents, commenced on Monday at the Radisson Blu hotel.

The initiative was organized by the Global Road Safety Partnership (GRSP) as part of the Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety. The program aims to equip law enforcement personnel with advanced techniques for thorough, evidence-based investigations.

Chattogram Metropolitan Police Commissioner Hasan Md Showkat Ali officially inaugurated the workshop. In his address, he stressed the critical importance of detailed investigations to accurately identify the root causes of road crashes, which is essential for implementing effective prevention strategies.

Several officials attended the event, including CMP Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic) Hossain Mohammad Kabir Bhuiyan, Deputy Commissioner (Traffic-South) Md Liaquat Ali Khan, and representatives from various city and government bodies. A total of 74 participants are taking part in the training. The workshop concluded with Commissioner Bhuiyan presenting certificates to the attendees.
