Police recover pistol, stolen car in separate Gombe operations

The firearm was promptly reported to the police, and detectives immediately responded to the scene, where the Beretta pistol with an empty magazine was recovered. Investigation is ongoing to determine the ownership of the weapon and the circumstances surrounding its concealment.

In the first incident, a vigilant resident discovered a Beretta pistol with an empty magazine concealed beneath a stone near the Brave Rock Sport/Recreational Park in Gombe's New GRA area. The resident promptly alerted the police, who dispatched detectives to the scene. The firearm was secured, and an investigation is underway to identify its owner and the circumstances of its concealment.

Separately, police operatives responded swiftly to a report of a stolen 2010 Toyota Camry. Officers from the Dukku Division, in coordination with the Police Control Room, closed in on the suspect. The individual attempted to evade arrest, fleeing the scene and abandoning the stolen vehicle. A search of the car yielded a set of fabricated master keys and other suspicious items.
