Police Release Woman in Frederikshavn Stabbing Case

North Jutland Police have released a 45-year-old woman who was arrested Monday in connection with the stabbing death of a 34-year-old man in Frederikshavn. The woman was detained to clarify her potential role in the incident, but investigators found no basis for suspicion, leading to her release Monday evening.

"We have currently carried out a large number of investigative steps, and extensive technical investigations are still ongoing in the area. Therefore, police are still present," stated Deputy Chief Superintendent Søren Pejtersen Monday evening. The police's mobile station will be present at Føtex in Frederikshavn on Tuesday between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. for individuals to discuss the incident.

Police received a report of a stabbing in central Frederikshavn at 12:16 p.m. on Monday. Despite first aid, the 34-year-old man could not be saved. Authorities had previously released a photograph of a woman from behind, seeking witnesses with information. Pejtersen urged citizens affected by the incident to speak with someone, offering the mobile police station or the Victim Support Service as resources.
