Police report lodged after elderly man shoved to ground in dispute over patting girl's head

Authorities are investigating an incident at a food court where an elderly man was shoved to the ground following a dispute. The confrontation occurred at the Roxy Square mall outlet of Bei-Ing Wanton Noodle. Social media posts by the business initially sought to identify individuals involved after the incident on Saturday. According to the family of the elderly man, he, who is in his 70s and has difficulty walking, patted a young girl on the head while seeking support from tables as he walked past. The child's father allegedly became upset and confronted the elderly man. CCTV footage shows the elderly man being shoved and falling. His relatives assisted him, and initially, he did not wish to pursue the matter. The family later stated the elderly man suffered back pain from the fall. In a subsequent post, the girl's father reportedly apologized, citing being "overprotective" of his daughter. The business reiterated its appeal for information, noting the matter remained unresolved.
