Police rescue abducted 8-year-old in Gombe, arrest four suspects

Police in Gombe State, Nigeria, have successfully rescued an eight-year-old boy who was abducted from Akko Local Government Area. The Gombe State Police Command announced the rescue and the arrest of four suspects allegedly involved in the crime.

The incident began when the boy's father reported him missing on June 28, after he failed to return home from his usual morning routine. Detectives launched an investigation and intensified efforts to locate the child. Despite a false tip about the boy's location, intelligence-led operations led to a breakthrough on June 30 with the arrest of the first suspect.

During interrogation, the first suspect confessed to conspiring with three others to abduct the boy. Following this confession, the other three suspects were apprehended, and the abducted child was found in their custody. The boy was rescued unharmed and has since been reunited with his family. The police stated that the investigation is ongoing, and the suspects will face prosecution.
