Police seek arrest warrant for man who stabbed LG Electronics employees

Police have sought an arrest warrant for a 60-year-old man suspected of stabbing two employees at an LG Electronics office in Seoul's Gangseo-gu district.

The suspect, identified as an employee of a company that partners with LG Electronics, is accused of attacking two male employees, aged in their 50s and 40s, with a knife on Thursday morning. The Gangseo Police Station stated that charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault were applied separately based on the circumstances of each victim's attack.

The victims treated me with disrespect and I was enraged after receiving a termination notice today, so I committed the crime.

During initial police questioning, the suspect reportedly stated that he committed the crime out of anger, claiming the victims had consistently treated him with disrespect and that he had just received a termination notice. However, sources close to the victims have refuted the suspect's claims of disrespect, suggesting instead that the suspect had difficulty with his work and had requested a change in duties through his partner company's representative.

Emergency services were dispatched to the LG Electronics Magok Business Center following a report of two men found stabbed. The suspect was apprehended by police at the Digital Media City (DMC) subway station while attempting to flee. The injured employees were transported to a hospital, where they are being treated for serious stab wounds to their sides and arms, but their conditions are reported as stable.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the motive and circumstances surrounding the violent incident.
