Police seek three suspects after violent Ostend robbery

Authorities in Ostend are seeking the public's help to identify three suspects involved in a brutal robbery that left a 30-year-old man in critical condition. The violent incident occurred on October 21, 2025, at the Cardijnplein, where the victim was lured into an apartment building's entrance hall.

CCTV footage captured the swiftness of the attack. As the victim was drawn inside, one suspect allegedly struck him on the head with a black baseball bat just as the door was closing. Within 12 seconds, all three suspects fled the scene, with one seen carrying the victim's orange bag. The victim suffered severe injuries and, according to police, will bear the lifelong consequences of the assault.

Police have provided detailed descriptions of the three men. The first suspect is described as being between 25 and 30 years old, with a dark mustache, wearing black clothing and New Balance sneakers. The second suspect, believed to be between 25 and 35, has a tanned complexion, a round face, dark hair, and a beard, and was wearing dark clothes with white sneakers. The third suspect, also estimated to be between 25 and 35, has dark skin, black curly hair, and a beard. He was seen wearing an Adidas track jacket, blue jeans, and Nike Dunk Low sneakers.

In addition to the suspects, police are also looking for a key witness who was in the vicinity during the incident. This individual is described as tall, athletically built, with dark, closely cropped hair and light stubble, wearing dark clothing and white sneakers.
