Police seek witnesses after motorcyclist found dead in German roadside ditch

Police in the Bonndorf area of Germany's Black Forest are appealing for witnesses after a 50-year-old motorcyclist was discovered dead in a roadside ditch. The grim discovery was made by a road maintenance worker during a routine inspection of Landstraße 170.

Initial findings at the scene suggest the woman was traveling from Rothaus towards Bonndorf when her motorcycle veered off the road for reasons that remain unclear. She then entered the ditch and crashed into a tree. Her motorcycle was found approximately 15 meters away in the woods.

Investigators are working to determine the exact time of the accident, noting that the crash may have occurred considerably earlier than when the body was found on Thursday. Witnesses reported seeing the woman riding her motorcycle on Tuesday evening in the vicinity of Schluchsee, Häusern, or Grafenhausen.

Authorities are urging anyone who may have seen the motorcyclist or the accident to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
