Police Seize Thousands of Grams of Illicit Drug, Tens of Thousands of Shekels in Bat Yam

In a significant operation targeting drug trafficking in Bat Yam, Israeli police successfully confiscated a substantial haul of narcotics and cash. The raid, conducted by Bat Yam Police officers and detectives from the Tel Aviv District’s Light Rail Unit, uncovered thousands of grams of dangerous drugs, including cocaine, crystal meth, ketamine, MDMA, and hallucinogenic mushrooms, alongside NIS 13,100 in cash, indicating a well-established distribution network.

The successful operation led to the arrest of two individuals, aged 52 and 28, who are now in police custody. This seizure is part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies across Israel to combat the pervasive issue of drug trade and its associated violence, which continues to be a major concern for public safety.

This bust in Bat Yam is one of several recent law enforcement successes. In parallel, police are investigating a fatal shooting in Ramle, believed to be linked to an ongoing violent feud. Furthermore, border police and IDF soldiers intercepted a significant cache of 26 handguns smuggled from the West Bank, and a separate operation in Kafr Kanna resulted in the arrest of three young suspects and the seizure of hashish, crystal meth, ammunition, and a handgun. These multiple incidents underscore the multifaceted challenges facing Israeli security forces in maintaining order and combating criminal activity on multiple fronts.
