Argentina is preparing to welcome Pope Leo XIV for an apostolic visit from November 8 to 11, a historic event announced by the Vatican and enthusiastically received by President Javier Milei and his government. Milei shared his excitement on social media, stating, "Argentina will receive the Pope," and confirming that the Holy Father accepted the invitation extended earlier this year.

Vatican sources indicated that the Pope will also visit Uruguay before heading to Argentina and will later travel to Peru, where he holds citizenship.

I was officially notified that Argentina will receive the Apostolic Visit of His Holiness Leo XIV, accepting the invitation we made at the beginning of the year.

Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno, who personally delivered the invitation to the Pope in February, expressed his joy at the confirmation. He highlighted the collaborative efforts with the Holy See, the Apostolic Nunciature, and the Argentine Episcopal Conference to ensure the visit's success. The government has assured the Vatican of the necessary security and logistical conditions for the pontiff's arrival.
