Popular Turkish band Sakiler disbands after six years

The Turkish music group Sakiler, which gained a significant following with their unique rendition of Pinhani's song 'Dünyadan Uzak,' has announced their decision to disband after six years together.

The band comprised three members: Hasan Gözetlik, Yücel Girgin, and Serkan Balkan. Gözetlik, born in 1990, is a graduate of Mimar Sinan University's State Conservatory and plays the trombone and trumpet. He also performs in Koray Avcı's orchestra. Girgin, the group's guitarist, studied at Kocaeli University and focuses on classical guitar. Serkan Balkan, born in 1984, is a musician, composer, and arranger.

Guitarist Yücel Girgin shared the news of the band's separation on his social media account. He reflected on their musical journey, stating, "Success was never a coincidence; it was a design of believing in the right emotion at the right time. The Sakiler era has completed its mission, leaving behind wonderful songs and unforgettable memories." He expressed gratitude to everyone who supported them and indicated a period of rest and observation before embarking on new projects.

Girgin's message suggested a future focused on music that resonates deeply with people's emotions, guided by intellect. "See you soon, with respect..." he concluded, hinting at future endeavors.
