Porsche Korea Spreads Value of Korean Intangible Cultural Heritage

Porsche Korea is promoting the value of intangible cultural heritage with its 'K-Heritage Art Exhibition, Line of Connection' at Changdeokgung Palace's Nakseonjae Hall. The exhibition, which opened on August 25, aims to support the preservation and transmission of national intangible cultural heritage and shed light on traditional cultural values in a modern context.

This event is part of the 'Porsche Future Heritage' social contribution program, which began in 2022. The special exhibition, themed 'Mongro - Standing on the Path of Dreams,' connects the dream journeys of traditional artisans, including holders of national intangible cultural heritage and their disciples, through a single 'line.' It showcases the perspectives of artisans who have inherited tradition alongside contemporary artists, conveying the value of heritage that bridges the past and present, as well as different generations and cultures.

The exhibition features approximately 160 works across various genres, including traditional crafts, paintings, installations, and photography, by a total of 48 participants, including holders of national intangible cultural heritage, their disciples, and contemporary artists. The exhibition space, extending from Seokbokheon to Sugangjae within Nakseonjae at Changdeokgung Palace, is designed to allow visitors to appreciate the diverse works in a continuous flow, from the inheritance of tradition to its modern interpretation. Notably, special collaborative works created by intangible cultural heritage holders and Porsche Korea using mother-of-pearl lacquer and gold leaf techniques will also be unveiled.
