Portable loses celebrity boxing rematch to Okocha after ring walkout

Street-pop singer Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, lost his celebrity boxing rematch against Nollywood actor Charles Okocha by disqualification on Friday. The bout, held at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos, ended prematurely when Portable walked out of the ring before the conclusion of the opening round.

The fight, billed as "Unfinished Business," was a rematch following a controversial first encounter where Okocha claimed the decision was unfairly awarded to Portable. In this latest clash, Portable initially appeared to have the upper hand. However, the contest devolved into a wrestling-like scuffle, prompting the referee to intervene and struggle to separate the fighters.

Amidst the commotion and as the round ended, Portable abruptly stormed out of the ring, eliciting boos from the audience. Despite attempts to persuade him to return, officials disqualified him, handing the victory to Okocha. This outcome reverses the result of their initial fight, where Portable had emerged victorious and expressed confidence in his superior fighting abilities.

Before the fight, Portable had expressed his unhappiness, stating, "I am not happy, but I want God to make me happy and my family." The disqualification marks a significant reversal for the singer, who had boasted about his prowess in their previous encounter.
