Post offices will soon sell electricity and gas

Austrian post offices are preparing to offer more than envelopes and stamps. From autumn, customers are expected to be able to buy electricity and gas tariffs there as well.

The new service will come through a cooperation between Österreichische Post and Verbund. The two companies announced the partnership in the energy sector, with the arrangement expected to begin in the autumn.

The plan would add energy sales to the everyday services available at Post locations, allowing customers to purchase Verbund electricity and gas products alongside traditional postal items.
