Prabowo Summons Defense Minister, Military Chiefs to Palace

President Prabowo Subianto convened a high-level meeting with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) leadership at the Merdeka Palace. The gathering included the TNI Commander-in-Chief General Agus Subiyanto, the Deputy Commander, and the chiefs of staff for the army, navy, and air force. They were joined by the Minister of Defense and key presidential secretariat officials.

The TNI leadership reported on the progress of various strategic programs. A key focus was on initiatives aimed at promoting equitable development and enhancing public welfare across Indonesia. These include the ongoing construction of 2,500 village bridges, targeted for completion by August 2026, and the development of nearly 3,000 clean water access points in diverse regions.

In the meeting, the TNI Commander-in-Chief and the Chiefs of Staff reported on the progress of various strategic programs undertaken by the TNI.

Further discussions covered the expansion of electricity access to villages, particularly in remote areas, and the upcoming TNI Social Service activities planned nationwide to celebrate the 81st anniversary of Indonesian Independence. The military's commitment to supporting government priority programs was also highlighted.

President Prabowo specifically directed the TNI to present something unique for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations. The meeting underscored the TNI's dual role: safeguarding national sovereignty and acting as a strategic partner in accelerating development, thereby reinforcing its contribution to the nation's progress and welfare.
