Premios Pinti: New awards to honor commercial Argentine theater

Argentina's Association of Theatrical and Musical Entrepreneurs (Aadet) has established the Premios Pinti, a new award designed to celebrate artistic and productive excellence within the country's commercial theater scene. The inaugural awards ceremony is scheduled for July 27 at the renowned Teatro Colón, with a live broadcast on eltrece.

Sebastián Blutrach, president of Aadet, stated, "With these awards, we want to consolidate a benchmark recognition for our theater, expressing the artistic quality and talented work of producers, casts, and technical teams. It is an invitation to value the Argentine theatrical stage."

The Premios Pinti will distinguish spectacles and artists in over 20 categories, covering artistic, technical, and production aspects. Eligibility is for works produced by Aadet members that have run between August 2025 and July of the current year in Buenos Aires. Notably, the "Audience Favorite Show" award will be determined through an open voting platform, giving spectators a direct role.

The awards are named in honor of Enrique Pinti, a widely admired figure in Argentine culture. Aadet described him as "an actor, author, director, comedian, and undisputed reference of the national stage, Pinti left a unique mark through his talent, his commitment to theater, and his extraordinary ability to connect with different generations of spectators." His name embodies artistic excellence, critical thinking, creativity, and a deep passion for the stage, aligning with the spirit of this new distinction.

A jury of 25 cultural figures, including journalists, writers, critics, and emerging cultural leaders, will select the nominees and winners. Aadet emphasized that this independent body will ensure a plural, rigorous, and diverse evaluation of the theatrical activity.
