President-elect De la Espriella Prioritizes Canal del Dique Reactivation and Security in Atlántico Visit

President-elect Abelardo de la Espriella has pledged to make regional infrastructure and security top priorities, emphasizing the reactivation of stalled projects during his first visit to Campo de la Cruz in southern Atlántico.

Accompanied by Governor Eduardo Verano and other officials, De la Espriella highlighted the strategic importance of the Canal del Dique recovery project. He stated that his administration will push forward this initiative, which has been practically paralyzed for four years, aiming to improve environmental protection, flood control, and economic development across Atlántico, Bolívar, and Sucre departments.

Beyond the Canal del Dique, the president-elect announced financial backing for the construction and repair of rural roads. This aims to facilitate the transport of agricultural products and enhance connectivity among southern Atlántico municipalities. The investment agenda also includes support for agribusiness, entrepreneurship programs, and strengthening rural infrastructure and public services.

In security matters, De la Espriella reiterated a firm stance against criminal organizations, outlining a strategy that combines intelligence gathering, technological deployment, enhanced inter-agency coordination, and citizen engagement programs to complement operational actions.
