President Lee Jae-myung's Approval Rating Hits Record Low of 49% [NBS]

President Lee Jae-myung's approval rating has fallen to 49%, marking the lowest point since he took office, according to the latest National Barometer Survey (NBS). This decline signifies a significant shift in public perception, with his job performance rating dipping into the 40% range for the first time.

The survey, conducted by Embrain Public, Kstat Research, Korea Research, and Hankook Research from August 10-12, revealed that 49% of respondents approved of President Lee's performance. This is a decrease from the 53% approval rating recorded in the last week of July. Conversely, the negative assessment of his job performance rose to 43%, a notable increase from 37% two weeks prior.

Furthermore, public trust in President Lee's administration has also reached a new low, standing at 52%. This figure reflects a growing concern among the populace regarding the direction and effectiveness of his leadership. The survey involved 1,001 adults nationwide and was conducted via phone interviews, with a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
