He emphasized that the program seeks individuals with a passion for improving society and a sense of responsibility for the future, rather than those with extensive resumes or special qualifications. "Small questions felt in daily life are fine, and thoughts like 'it would be good if this changed' are also good," Lee said. "If you have a desire to create a better world, hope for the future, and a sense of responsibility, that is enough."

The fellowship aims to foster a collaborative environment where policies are discussed in the language of youth and shaped by their experiences. "We want to look at the world through the eyes of young people, talk about policy in the language of young people, and build the future of Korea together with the experiences of young people," Lee added, encouraging widespread interest and participation.

Applications for the first cohort of the Blue House Youth Fellowship opened on July 20 and will close on August 5 at 6 p.m. Successful candidates will serve from September 1, 2026, to February 28, 2027, following a review of their applications. The program is open to all South Korean citizens between the ages of 19 and 34.
