President Promises Industrial Park Plan Approval by Year-End; County Leader Seeks More Support

President Lai Ching-te pledged on August 21 that the urban plan for the "Water Five Metals" industrial park will be approved before the end of the year. Lai made the commitment during an industry forum in Changhua County's Homei Township.

This urban plan for the Water Five Metals pastoral settlement specific area will be completed before the end of the year.

Changhua County Magistrate Wang Hui-mei expressed gratitude for the president's support, stating, "Thank you, Mr. President, for your support and encouragement. We will do better!" However, she emphasized that significant development requires more than incremental steps and urged Lai to champion other crucial projects to "turn around Changhua's destiny."

In a Facebook post, Wang detailed the projects needing presidential advocacy. She thanked Lai for prioritizing the "Water Five Metals" plan, which is nearing review by the Ministry of the Interior. She also appealed for strong presidential backing for the "Changhua-Zhukang" specific zone de-amalgamation plan, awaiting review by the Ministry of the Interior; the Changhua and Homei MRT network, under the Ministry of Transportation; and the environmental impact assessment for the Erlin Precision Industry Park, before the Environmental Protection Administration.

Wang stressed that this is a critical moment for Changhua's transformation and that the president's consistent attention is vital. She concluded by expressing that the people of Changhua will forever remember his decisive contributions to the county's revitalization, adding, "President Lai, thank you for your hard work. Your support and encouragement will help us do better."

But small steps are difficult to complete major construction. I call on you to strongly push forward many more plans, to turn around Changhua's destiny.
