Presidential primaries: Massive votes, reflection of confidence in Tinubu’s leadership —Ekiti Rep

Akinlayo Kolawole, a member of Nigeria's House of Representatives, asserted that the substantial number of votes President Bola Tinubu received in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Primaries across wards and states demonstrates strong confidence in his leadership. Kolawole, representing Ekiti North Federal Constituency II, congratulated Tinubu on winning the party's ticket for a second term.

The lawmaker highlighted that President Tinubu has earned the second-term ticket and the potential reelection in January 2027 through his numerous achievements and reforms over the past three years, which he believes have propelled the country forward. He also commended APC members for their impressive turnout during the primary election in Ekiti and other states.

The President has, through his numerous achievements in the different sectors and his reforms, which have moved the country forward in the last three years, worked for the party’s second term ticket and indeed reelection in January 2027. I congratulate the President for this victory.

Kolawole, who mobilized party members to vote for Tinubu's second-term bid in his Igogo Ward 2, Moba Local Government area of Ekiti State, expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the exercise. He noted that the results from his ward, Ekiti State, and other parts of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory, reflect growing confidence in President Tinubu's leadership and the APC's political dominance in the region ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The APC Presidential Primary Election Committee announced that President Tinubu secured 10,999,162 votes, while his challenger, Stanley Osifo, received 16,503 votes. In Igogo Ward 2, where Kolawole cast his vote, 595 out of 687 accredited voters supported President Tinubu. Supporters of the federal lawmaker described this outcome as a clear demonstration of Kolawole's grassroots influence and organizational strength within the APC structure in Ekiti North Federal Constituency II.
