Prime Minister Nominee Han Duck-soo Vows to Tackle Economic Crisis, Embrace AI Transformation

Han Duck-soo, the nominee for South Korea's Prime Minister, has publicly stated his primary focus will be on addressing the nation's current economic emergency. In his first social media post since his nomination, Han conveyed a profound sense of responsibility, vowing to dedicate all his efforts to overcoming the critical situation.

"If I am given the important role of Prime Minister, I will do my utmost to overcome the immediate national economic emergency situation," Han declared on his X account (formerly Twitter). He acknowledged the weight of the nomination, especially as the nation enters the second year of the "People's Sovereignty Government." He pledged to build upon the foundation for democratic recovery and normalization laid by the previous Prime Minister, Kim Min-seok.

Han also highlighted the importance of navigating the AI era's transformative impact on industries and the global complex crisis. He stressed the need to accelerate AI-driven innovation and ensure that the benefits of this technological shift translate into opportunities and growth for all South Korean citizens. "We must accelerate the AI transition and accelerate innovation amid the industrial reorganization accelerated by AI and the global complex crisis," he stated, adding that a structural shift is needed so that "its fruits lead to opportunities and growth for all citizens of the Republic of Korea."

Looking ahead, Han committed to listening to diverse voices from all sectors of society to resolve conflicts.
