Prime Minister Visits Kishoreganj for National Fisheries Week Inauguration and Community Programs

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman commenced a visit to Kishoreganj on Sunday, marking his inaugural trip to the district since taking office following the 13th Parliamentary Election. The prime minister's agenda is packed with events centered around the formal inauguration of National Fisheries Week-2026 and other community-focused programs.

Departing from his Gulshan residence early Sunday morning, the prime minister's schedule began with a visit to the Mirzapur Chairman Bari Ghat area in Pakundia. There, he released fish fry into the Brahmaputra River and engaged with local residents. The itinerary continued with a stop at the Katiadi Carp Hatchery Complex.

The centerpiece of the visit is the inauguration of National Fisheries Week and the National Fisheries Award ceremony, set to take place at the George Institution Mini Stadium in Katiadi. The prime minister is also scheduled to launch a tree plantation program at Sholakia Eidgah Maidan and later attend a ceremony at the Old Kishoreganj Stadium.

During the stadium event, Family Cards will be distributed, and honorariums provided to religious leaders, including imams, muezzins, priests, and monks. The prime minister is expected to conclude his engagements in Kishoreganj and depart for Dhaka in the evening after a day of official activities.
