Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly planning UK return, settling outside London

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle are reportedly planning a return to the United Kingdom, leaving their current residence in California. British media outlets reported that the couple intends to move back before the end of the month, settling in a private, non-royal residence located on the outskirts of London. This move signals a significant shift for the couple, who stepped back from royal duties in 2020. Adding to the reports, several media outlets, including the BBC, stated that their two children, Archie and Lilibet, have been enrolled in a British school, with classes set to begin in September. According to the PA news agency, King Charles III was informed of their plans on Sunday and reportedly welcomed the prospect of seeing more of his family personally, though their status as private citizens will remain unchanged. Harry has visited the UK on several occasions since their move to the US, including a visit in February to see his father after his cancer diagnosis and another in September 2025 for tea at Clarence House. In a May 2025 interview with the BBC, he expressed a desire for family reconciliation and sadness over not being able to show his children his homeland.
