Principal of ‘super-school’ with 10,565 students turns to digital management and fewer meetings

Managing 10,565 students across one main campus, 12 branches and five school sites has pushed Nha Trang Primary School to redesign its administration. Principal Chau Dinh Mai Phuong said the school would rely on digital transformation and artificial intelligence while limiting meetings.

The school has 287 classes, 524 administrators, teachers and staff, and 10 professional departments. After the merger, each branch had its own characteristics and management style. The leadership is now working to create greater consistency among administrators and direct attention toward shared goals.

The school has established a management framework and assigned each vice principal specific responsibilities. Alongside overseeing campuses and branches, they will handle areas including professional affairs, emulation, public security, party work, universal education and boarding services. Leaders will inspect and supervise the different units to understand their conditions and balance management between the main school, larger sites and more difficult locations.

The school is also reorganizing staff because facilities and personnel are unevenly distributed. Teachers from branches with excess staff will be moved to locations with shortages, while the school checks that teachers work in line with their subjects and professional qualifications. A common education plan will apply across the school so students at the main campus and branches receive the same core program and activities.

The school is continuing teaching and learning while stabilizing boarding services. It will contract qualified cooks and caregivers to support students, and boarding meals will be arranged with agreement from the relevant parties.

Therefore, we have to reorganize so teachers from branches with excess staff can be assigned where there are shortages, ensuring teachers teach the right subjects and specialties.
