Prižmić Advances in Umag, Joins Elite Croatian Tennis History

Dino Prižmić delivered a standout performance in the first round of the 36th Plava Laguna Croatia Open Umag, securing his place in the round of 16. The Croatian player, currently ranked 84th in the ATP rankings, convincingly defeated the tournament's eighth seed, Czech player Vit Kopriva, with a score of 6-1, 6-3.

I played the first set really well and took advantage of many opportunities. I am satisfied for the first match, after not playing points on clay for some time.

This victory marks Prižmić's third time advancing to the second round of the Umag ATP tournament. He joins an exclusive group of Croatian tennis players who have achieved this feat, including notable names like Ivan Ljubičić and Marin Čilić. Prižmić's performance was particularly strong in the first set, where he dominated Kopriva, losing only one game.

I try to get better from match to match. My goal is to enjoy every moment on the court and play as best as I can. I think I have fulfilled most of the plan for this match, but I don't feel yet like I feel when I play my best tennis.

Prižmić expressed satisfaction with his performance, noting that he played well and capitalized on opportunities, especially considering his recent time away from clay-court matches. He highlighted his strong serving and efficient break-point conversion as key factors in his win.
