Problem Wolf in Denmark Remains Unshot Despite Ongoing Search Efforts

A wolf exhibiting concerning behavior in West Jutland, Denmark, remains at large and has not yet been shot, according to the Danish Nature Agency. Efforts to locate and manage the animal have been ongoing since August 6.

The agency has deployed thermal drones and personnel armed with rifles in an attempt to find the wolf. To bolster these efforts and improve public reporting, a dedicated SMS service was launched on Tuesday. This service allows citizens to report sightings of wolves displaying what is described as 'soliciting and inappropriate behavior'.

On Tuesday evening, the agency received an SMS report of a wolf sighting just outside Houstrup. Agency staff were dispatched to the area but were unable to locate the animal. Further attempts using thermal drones between 8:30 PM and 10:30 PM also failed to spot the wolf.

The SMS service can be reached at phone number 21418626. Those reporting a sighting are asked to provide the address, time, and details about the wolf's behavior. The option to send accompanying pictures is also available.
