Prostitute Confesses to Defrauding Priest and Others of Nearly $350,000 with Fabricated Illnesses

A 30-year-old woman has confessed to defrauding a retired priest and two other men of nearly 350,000 euros using elaborate lies about her financial and health struggles. The prostitute, who has been in custody since autumn, admitted the charges through her lawyer at the start of her trial at the Würzburg Regional Court.

Prosecutors accuse the woman of fraud, extortion, and violating personal privacy through image recordings. She allegedly met the priest in 2016 at a Würzburg sauna club, and he became a client in 2022. In January 2023, she claimed to have leukemia and repeatedly told the priest she needed money for medical treatments because she lacked health insurance. Believing her story, the priest paid her at least 100,000 euros from a life insurance policy by November 2023. He reportedly gave her an additional 255,000 euros by 2025, allegedly to prevent her from publishing secretly taken nude photos or informing the Würzburg Diocese about their sexual contact.

Adding a layer of complexity, the public prosecutor's office is also investigating the retired priest.
