Protesters Rally Against Trump Policy at U.S. Embassy in Berlin on National Day

Berlin witnessed a protest against U.S. President Donald Trump's policies on the 250th anniversary of the United States' founding. On July 4, 2026, a gathering of 150 to 200 individuals assembled outside the U.S. Embassy near the Brandenburg Gate.

The demonstration, organized by Democrats Abroad, an organization representing U.S. citizens living outside the country, carried the slogan "Defend Democracy – Fight Fascism." Participants displayed handmade signs with messages such as "Democracy is not perfect, but it is the best we have" and "Hands off immigrants."

A notable element of the protest was the use of the political protest code "8647." This numerical message is a known encrypted call within the U.S. to "get rid of" the 47th U.S. president, implicitly targeting Donald Trump.

Following the protest, attendees planned to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States, blending their political dissent with national commemoration.
