PRP Clears Donald Duke as Presidential Candidate for 2027 Election; 420 Candidates to Contest

The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has officially cleared Donald Duke, the former Governor of Cross River State, to run as its presidential candidate in the 2027 general election.

This decision follows the PRP's National Working Committee's (NWC) review and approval of the recently concluded primaries. The NWC also confirmed the outcomes of other primary elections for governorship, Senate, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly positions. The party expressed its commitment to internal democracy and delivering transformative leadership.

According to the PRP's National Publicity Secretary, Muhammed Ishaq, the party will present a total of 420 candidates for all elective offices in the 2027 elections. An exception was made in the Tarauni Federal Constituency in Kano, where the primary election was nullified.

The PRP stated its dedication to active participation in the electoral process and aims to field credible candidates who embody the party's principles.
