PTI Plans Nationwide Protests for Imran Khan's Release

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is set to stage nationwide protests today, marking three years since the imprisonment of its founder, Imran Khan. The party aims to use these demonstrations as a centerpiece for its campaign demanding Khan's release.

A public meeting in Peshawar is designated as the main event, with regional and local PTI organizations across the country directed to hold protests at their convenience. This coordinated action comes amid reports of raids and crackdowns against PTI workers, particularly in Punjab province. The party asserts its commitment to unity and peaceful demonstrations, emphasizing that there is "no space for violence in PTI."

Despite the planned protests, the Rawalpindi administration has reportedly denied permission for a rally at Liaquat Bagh. PTI Central Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram stated that while protests will occur, they will be conducted without violence. The party is also pinning hopes on figures like Aleema Khan and others to rally support and ensure the success of their campaign for Khan's release.
