Public holidays declared in seven Kanchanpur municipalities for Gaura festival

Seven municipalities in Nepal’s Kanchanpur district have declared a public holiday for the Gaura festival, a celebration with deep cultural importance in the country’s far-western region.

The municipalities include Bhimdatta, Dodhara Chandni, Shuklaphanta, Punarbas, Laljhandi and Beldandi. The decision also covers another municipality in the district.

Mahesh Bahadur Bam, the chief administrative officer of Bhimdatta Municipality, confirmed the decision. The holiday will allow communities in Kanchanpur to observe the festival.
