Public Image Ltd. praises opening band Obojeni Program after Belgrade show

Legendary British post-punk band Public Image Ltd. (PiL) gave a notable shout-out to Obojeni Program, the Novi Sad-based band that opened for them in Belgrade on May 18. PiL lauded the local act on their official Facebook page, urging fans to explore Obojeni Program's music.

"Big shout out to Obojeni Program from Novi Sad who supported PiL in Serbia at Zappa Barka. 2 bass players, mad sound, been going since 1980! Check them out," PiL posted, sharing a link to the band's Instagram profile. The post highlighted Obojeni Program's long history, dating back to 1980, and their distinctive sound.

Public Image Ltd., formed in 1978 by John Lydon of Sex Pistols fame, played their third show in Belgrade. Obojeni Program, an alternative rock group founded in Novi Sad in 1980, has a notable history in regional music. They were the first band from the area to be featured on MTV's "120 Minutes" in 1993 and are the only local act to have been recognized by the late BBC radio host John Peel.
