Public Schools Dominate 2026 Baccalaureate Success, Ministry Data Shows

Public educational institutions led the nation in baccalaureate exam success for 2026, with 55.82% of all successful candidates coming from these schools. This figure highlights the significant role public education plays in the country's academic outcomes.

Students from private institutions represented 21.72% of those who passed. Independent candidates, those not affiliated with a specific school, accounted for 14.20% of the successful cohort. These statistics provide a detailed breakdown of the diverse pathways to baccalaureate success.

The overall pass rate for the 2026 baccalaureate, encompassing both the main and retake sessions, stood at 50.72%. The retake session alone saw 23,316 students admitted out of 49,661 participants, achieving a 46.95% pass rate. In the main session, 55,259 students passed out of 154,928 who took the exams, resulting in a 35.67% pass rate. In total, 78,575 candidates earned their baccalaureate degrees across both sessions.
