Puebla Apologizes to Santos After Mocking President's Viral Video

Puebla Football Club has issued a formal apology to Santos Laguna and its president, Alejandro Irarragorri, after its official social media channels mocked a video of him singing. The viral clip showed Irarragorri singing 'Color Esperanza' after Santos Laguna's defeat to Puebla.

Puebla's social media team had used a popular phrase from the song to taunt their rivals. However, the club later acknowledged that these posts were "completely inappropriate and unfortunate." In a statement, Puebla emphasized that the content did not align with their core values of respect and sportsmanship.

In relation to certain publications that were made yesterday on our official social media, Club Puebla offers a sincere apology to Club Santos Laguna and its Board of Directors, given that said publications were completely inappropriate and unfortunate.

The club has since deleted the offending posts and stated that internal measures are being implemented to ensure such an incident does not happen again. The apology, however, has drawn criticism from some social media users who noted that Puebla often engages in similar provocative behavior online.
