Puebla students extend Mexico City historic-center blockade into second day

A blockade by students from Puebla’s Carmen Serdán Rural Teachers’ College entered its second day in Mexico City’s historic center, with roads still closed to traffic.

The students said they would remain at the site until authorities gave a favorable response to their demands. They continued protesting despite bad weather, supported by several buses and tents set up in the area.

The demonstration has severely affected traffic in the city’s central district. Trolebús service also remains suspended on the route between Tasqueña and the Northern Bus Station. The students have maintained their position while waiting for a response from authorities.
