Ruiz noted South Africa's strategy of focusing on set pieces and frontal play, observing, "They try to batter you all the time, and if you stop them, they start looking at each other to see what's happening." He added that the team controlled contact, scrum, and maul for periods, indicating their ability to compete at the highest level.

While the team lacked offensive ideas at times, their defensive effort was commendable. Ruiz also highlighted improvements in the lineout, an area that has been a weakness in recent years. "Today it worked very well. In the end, when fatigue sets in, there's always a detail that's missing. We have to be on those details to achieve 100% acquisition," he reflected. The match, though ultimately a loss, provided valuable experience for the developing squad.
