Pumping operations end in Pärnu as follow-up work continues

Water levels in Pärnu’s most critical flood zones have fallen markedly, allowing the Rescue Board to end pumping operations in Tammiste and the city of Pärnu.

Pumps continued running at full capacity in Tammiste and Rääma during the morning, with the work continuing until around midday. The Rescue Board said rescuers found two makeshift dams in Tammiste that had obstructed the flow of water.

After the dams were dug open, the water level began to fall quickly. Follow-up work will continue.
